Representatives of PM Excellence took part in the Gazprom-Invest risk session on the Kruzenshternskoye field development project

This event was important and timely due to the uniqueness and complexity of the project - the main part of the deposit is located in the Kara Sea, there is a need to form artificial islands, an extremely complex drilling process is expected, etc. Such potential difficulties on a project require building a risk management process to proactively manage potential problems and existing opportunities.
When preparing the program and in the process of moderating the risk session, PM Excellence specialists took into account both their own rich experience in conducting similar events (including at Gazprom-Invest) and the wishes of the participants, many of whom had participated in risk sessions previously.

Invited expert on megaproject management from PM Excellence, Alexander Kutuzov, shared his experience and knowledge. PME and Alexander Kochetov, PMP, PME, Director of PM Excellence practice.
During the risk session the following tasks were solved:

• in the initial discussion, a common understanding of the situation on the project was formed among the key participants in its management,
• the main risks of the Kruzenshtern project were identified, assessed and ranked,
• measures were developed to manage priority risks (measures were also developed for complexes of particularly risky work).

The results of the risk session were transferred to the project office for further processing and development. PM Excellence thanks Gazprom-TsPS for the invitation to participate in the risk session. In the current situation of change and instability in the global market and economy, an emphasis on risk management increases the likelihood of success for projects of any complexity. The management of Gazprom-Invest and Gazprom-TsPS continues to demonstrate an understanding of the importance of risk management and the desire to improve the efficiency of project implementation.
