what really prevents timely decision-making
WEBINAR WITH ALEXANDER KUTUZOV
Decision-Making in Projects: Speed and Quality
Spoiler: not every decision needs to be made quickly and examined in depth
September 24 at 11:00
About the Webinar
Projects lack the resources to make every decision both quickly and with thorough analysis: time, access to experts, and management attention are all limited.
The situation is made worse by the “piston effect” of avoidable delays. Bureaucracy, protracted approvals, indecision, postponing decisions, and reluctance to take responsibility consume time and steadily push unresolved issues toward the deadline. The team is then left under intense time pressure: many decisions have to be made at once, quickly and with no room for error.
Yet the approaching deadline does not bring any additional resources. The main task, therefore, is not to try to speed up every decision indiscriminately, but to set the right priorities: identify where speed is critical, where thorough analysis is essential, and where scarce management and expert attention should not be spent.
In this webinar, Alexander Kutuzov, PME, explains why trying to make every decision equally quickly and with the same depth of analysis overloads a project and often only slows it down.
You Will Learn:
which decisions need to be made quickly and examined in depth
where speed matters more, and where depth of analysis is essential
which issues should not consume scarce management and expert attention
how to keep the project team from repeatedly facing a last-minute rush at the deadline
Who Should Watch?
For project and program managers, project management office professionals, and project team members.
