PM Excellence specialists took part in organizing and conducting a risk session at Gazprom Invest

June 19 in the company LLC "Gazprom invest" (a subsidiary of PJSC Gazprom), a regular risk session was held dedicated to the North Center project (construction of the Volkhov - Segezha - Kostomuksha gas pipelines and the Volkhov - Murmansk highway). As part of the preparation of the risk session, its planning, organization and conduct were carried out by the teams of the RMC contractor PM Excellence and Gazprom TsPS. The session was attended by more than 20 experts from the project team and various functional divisions of Gazprom Invest involved in the North Center project.

From PM Excellence, the risk session was moderated by an invited expert on megaproject management Alexander Kutuzov, PME and Director of PM Excellence practice Alexander Kochetov, PMP, PME. Experts also shared their knowledge and practical experience in implementing large-scale projects and megaprojects.

During the risk session the following was accomplished:

• A general overview of the project is presented to all participants - to form among the participants a common understanding of the goals, objectives, current status, immediate prospects of the project, etc.;
• The main risks of the Volkhov - Segezha - Kostomuksha and Volkhov - Murmansk subprojects have been identified, assessed and ordered by magnitude;
• Risk management measures have been developed. The deadlines for completing the activities have been determined, and responsible units and persons have been appointed.

The results of the risk session were transferred to the Gazprom Invest project office for further work. The desire to identify and manage risks in advance and an emphasis on proactive management significantly increase the likelihood of successful project implementation.

The management of Gazprom Invest and Gazprom TsPS continue to develop the project management system, including by attracting experienced and professional service companies with extensive experience in project management in various industries.
