The goals of the event are to promote sustainable socio-economic development and development of the Arctic, stimulate scientific, technical and innovative activities in the region, create favorable conditions for attracting investments in development projects of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation (AZRF).

The conference traditionally brings together representatives of government authorities, leading companies in the oil and gas industry, research institutes, and members of the expert community.

The conference program consisted of a round table and plenary sessions, as well as an exhibition composition.

PM Excellence took part as an exhibitor at the conference, and practice director Roman Cheremisin spoke at the round table "Prospects for the development of the oil, gas and mining complexes of the Arctic" with a report "Practical tools for reducing the time of large-scale projects."

The speech noted that many large-scale projects, including in the Arctic region, are being implemented with significant delays, which is a critical problem, the damage from which nationwide amounts to hundreds of billions of rubles annually.

"Coordinating the work of dozens of companies participating in a major project is an objectively difficult task. At the same time, managers often do not have an understanding of the overall picture of the project and realistic forecasts for the timing, which does not allow them to set priorities and quickly make the necessary management decisions," Roman noted.

The practitioner elaborated on three main steps to minimize the risks of missing deadlines for large-scale projects:

  1. Formation of an integrated schedule network model ("fair schedule")
  2. Identifying critical issues using the Critical Path Promotion method
  3. Conducting PIU meetings to develop compensatory measures

In addition, Roman Cheremisin gave examples of critical chains and solutions for optimizing timing from the Russian practice of implementing large-scale projects in the oil, gas and mining industries.

The Conference was attended by representatives of the following organizations: Gazprom Neft Shelf, Gazprom Neft, Rosneft, Russian Gas Society, Northern Sea Route Administration, Rusatom.
